"Romancing the haiku", the goal is to write a "romantic" haiku ... So the goal of our Special, which is usually to write in the same spirit as the featured haiku-poet, today will be to write a "romantic" haiku".
Night—a twelve-wheeler
goes by making the dreams of
the inmates shiver
The boy drinks his milk
and sleeps cozy in his cell,
a mother of stone
Tranströmer wrote these haiku while he worked in Hällby Youth Prison (1959). He published nine haiku during the time he worked in the juvenile prison.

Yes ... a young person in prison ... his girl still at home .. at that age these sort relationships are tenuous in any case ...
