Shadorma ... With Carpe Diem's Little Ones. August 2, 2014

Over the last few months I've been priveledged to write a meme for Mindlovesmisery's Menagerie photo prompting the shadorma (today was my twentieth!)... so it was with great pleasure that I saw this week's little one on Carpe Diem Haiku Kai!

The shadorma is reputed to be the Spanish form of haiku, like the elfje of dutch fame.  It is definately a modern form but no one knows who created it or if indeed it is Spanish at all.  What is true without a doubt is that it's fun to write.  I often add to my prompt an intro to another little one to create something still more interesting.

The shadorma is a six line poem and has a syllable count of  3-5-3-3-7-5 it doesn't rhyme.  One can write as many stanzas as one likes and of course you can blend with another poem as well.

rain and sun
sunny creation
shimmering

  2. We had almost this experience driving home today. Dark clouds to the east, sun bursting through on the west.

    Cheers!

    1. We've been having very odd weather ... it's rained most every day this summer and as you can see sometimes whilst the sun is shining brightly ... It's an interesting experience isn't it! Thanks for sharing your experience. :-)
