Blues - October 6, 2014

For today's post a Carpe Diem Haiku Kai, we go back to January 2013!

this cold autumn morn
old man trouble chills the world
cicada's last blues

 over the frosted fields
the crows cawing in chorus
seasonal blues

sitting here alone
reflecting on illusions
just feeling kinda blue

cold nipping my hands
the soft cords of the blues play
autumn leaves fall

Such a lovely, achy series -- but of course you know i'm partial to the blues-singing cicada.

  3. Cette chanson est merveilleuse ! Piaf sounds better in French than English. Your last ku is stunning. Autumn melancholia has taken a grip on you I see. And now you make me want to go to Paris. Enjoyed this.

    1. That song has accompanied since I was a child, it was one of my mother's favorites. Yes, this morning I was gripped by autumn melancholia I guess. It would be too cool to go to Paris and imagine Piaf singing Autumn Leaves (definately in French) whilst walking down the Seine.

  4. Crows and cicadas definitely add bluesy elements to these pieces.

    1. Wow ... I'm glad you got to hear her in English ... I was going to share her autumn leaves just in French because I find it so lovely, but the song my Mom listened to was this one.
