this cold autumn morn
old man trouble chills the world
cicada's last blues
old man trouble chills the world
cicada's last blues
over the frosted fields
the crows cawing in chorus
seasonal blues
the crows cawing in chorus
seasonal blues
sitting here alone
reflecting on illusions
just feeling kinda blue
reflecting on illusions
just feeling kinda blue
cold nipping my hands
the soft cords of the blues play
autumn leaves fall
the soft cords of the blues play
autumn leaves fall

Beautiful set....I liked the second one more...:)
ReplyDeletethak, I was trying to write both nature haiku and blues senryu ... glad you enjoyed the series. :-)
DeleteThe sparrow with the golden voice :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely, achy series -- but of course you know i'm partial to the blues-singing cicada.
I wrote it in fact thinking of your and your "samurai" cicada ;-) Glad you enjoyed the series too.
DeleteCette chanson est merveilleuse ! Piaf sounds better in French than English. Your last ku is stunning. Autumn melancholia has taken a grip on you I see. And now you make me want to go to Paris. Enjoyed this.
ReplyDeleteThat song has accompanied since I was a child, it was one of my mother's favorites. Yes, this morning I was gripped by autumn melancholia I guess. It would be too cool to go to Paris and imagine Piaf singing Autumn Leaves (definately in French) whilst walking down the Seine.
DeleteCrows and cicadas definitely add bluesy elements to these pieces.
ReplyDeleteBlues Café at Dawn
LOL ... they sure do!
DeleteAutumn hymns are written in blues
ReplyDeleteDefinately ...
DeleteBeautiful set -- I haven't heard that melody in such a long time -- it was one of my favorites growing up! Thank you for sharing!! I can imagine a Paris scene as well!!
ReplyDeleteWe've got a common child-hood memory. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteWonderful series of haiku on the 'blues' ~ favorite is 'sitting here alone....' ~ well done!
ReplyDeleteartmusedog and carol (A Creative Harbor)
Glad you enjoyed the series an found your favorite!
Delete"old man trouble"---I'm sure I've met him!
ReplyDeleteBlues Trombonist
Ah yes ... he's loves to lurk around.
DeleteLike the crows cawing in chorus.
ReplyDeleteThanks Janice they really know how to sing the blues.
DeleteOh boy, lovely series! I have never heard Edith Piaf sing in English...that is a lovely song.
ReplyDeleteWow ... I'm glad you got to hear her in English ... I was going to share her autumn leaves just in French because I find it so lovely, but the song my Mom listened to was this one.
