Old orchid blossoms ...
Paper littered in the park -
November wind blows.

This month's guest poet at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai is Thomas Tranströmer, Swedish poet and Nobel Prize winner for Literature whom we met on last Saturday's Sparkling Stars. Here's the poem Chèvrefeuille posted for our inspiration:
The orchid blossoms.
Oil tankers are gliding past.
And the moon is full

And there is a beautiful haiku by Basho as well:
ran no ka ya cho no tusubasa ni takimono su
orchid fragrance
from the butterfly's wings
scenting the clothes
© Basho
Finally this is our host's haiku for the occasion:
the cobweb scattered
by the fluttering of wings
a blue butterfly
