Reading this haiku and looking out my window in this rainy cold summer, makes me reflect on the problems our farmers in our valley are having this year with the fruit crops. The cherry harvest has been nearly a disaster! But fruitless blossoms also makes me thing about the poppies in the fields ... this is a beautiful haiku to get into the feel of country life!adabana wa ame ni utarete uri batakefruitless blossoms

At least there are the poppies! ;)
ReplyDeleteIn the Melon Field
Yes, and they are beautiful this year!
DeleteWould you please consider getting rid of either comment moderation or word verification? Having both is just too much!!! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteAh ... I'm still trying to configure the blog and this does seem a bit much... Will look into it ... thanks for the suggestion.
DeleteA poppy-colored silver lining! Just gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteLol ... but you can't make wine from poppies ... at least I don't think you can!
DeleteWhat benefits one thing, is perhaps not so good for something else.
ReplyDeleteIf nature could practice moderation? Our farm co-op has also mentioned that too much rain has caused some problems with some of their ground produce.
The poppies do look lovely. Thanks for your visit ~Jules
Lol ... if there's one thing that nature has never been is in perfect harmony and I don't think she likes moderation! Yes the weather has been bad on both sides of the pond this year. Hopefully the rain will let off a bit. Thanks for dropping in! Georgia
DeleteWhat a loss ... the rain giving problems, but well those red poppies are a joy to watch heh!
ReplyDeleteTrue it's nice to see the red fields. That seems to be the fate of the farmer ... there are beautifully perfect years, then those too hot or too cold etc. Buson seemed to be talking about this sort of reality.
ReplyDeleteThe hardy ones survive and they are colorful. Wonderful take Georgia!

Thanks! Often the hardier are more colorful ... but the poppy is delicate and short lived.
