I am forever walking upon these shores,Betwixt the sand and the foam,The high tide will erase my foot-prints,And the wind will blow away the foam. But the sea and the shore will remainForever.
Something to always keep in mind as we reflect upon life! Here are the quotes that will inspire the beggar series:
[...] "We are all beggars at the gate of the temple, and each one of us receives his share of the bounty of the King when he enters the temple, and when he goes out. But we are all jealous of one another, which is another way of belittling the King". [...]
envy at the gate
among the rich and the poor
always wanting more
among the rich and the poor
always wanting more
beggars at the gate
searching for recognition
the king showers gifts
searching for recognition
the king showers gifts
jealous of others
the gates of heaven close
againt the anger
the gates of heaven close
againt the anger
the here and now
enjoying life's bounty
gateway to heaven

I like what you did here, Georgia. Nothing is ever white or black...life has many grey areas. And your including your fav Issa`s lovely haiku. Wonderfully done, Cara xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Cher! I have to admit that the Issa poems were on the CD prompt .... but I was so happy to see them! Life is rarely what we think it "should" be ... if we just take it for what it is, we'd probably suffer much less.
ReplyDeleteThe gates of heaven closing against the anger -- wow, Georgia --- this is a powerful image. Seems like that's what the 1% have been doing though ----
ReplyDeleteGreat work here ---
Glad you liked that particular image ... I did too ;-)
DeleteJealousy always reminds me of gossip. And we have all played that game...
ReplyDeleteI learned a few years ago a fitting ditty; we have two ears and only one mouth so we should listen twice as much.
And we should not be so quick to judge that which we cannot see. While we would like to blame all our ills on those who we think are not sharing... they might just be doing so without recognition. Kind of like judging a book by its cover. We may not like the art work, but the story may have more value... and yet there have been some books with great hype that I could not finish...
