The area where the "Notte di Fiaba" fireworks display takes place ... |
Riva del Garda means fireworks in the summer. They have a couple of firework's events but the town is famous, especially in Germany and Austria, for the great firworks display that they hold annualy, in conclusion of the summer season, known as Notte di Fiaba (Fairy Tale Night). The event takes place after a week of music, children's activities, plays etc. that follows a theme ... this year it was Robin Hood.
The firework's display, which is right over the lake in front of Riva, calls people from all around the area, and many people plan their vacation around this event. If one wants to go and see the fireworks though, they must spend the whole afternoon and evening in Riva or they won't find a place to park their car, and what's worse, a place to watch the fireworks! This year the fireworks display lasted 45 minutes.

Of course, a video can't capture the excitement of being there ... but I thought I'd add this anyway. And I'd like to imagine that this event celebrates Carpe Diem Haiku Kai's 2nd Anniversary ... with a beautiful bang!
The rainbow showers on the lake make the scene mind blowing.
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow fountains on the lake make it mind blowing.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you enjoyed the fireworks display Usha ... they really are mind blowingly beautiful!
Delete"fairy fireworks" ---the phrase sounds so delicate...

Thanks Mark ...
DeleteNotte di Fiaba. Italian is so musical a language. Thank you for the information and the video. Lake Garda must be a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteLake Garda is a fantastic place ... I'm happy you enjoyed the video and info. :-)
DeleteThat could be a reason to plan a visit :-) sounds impressive
ReplyDeleteIt's one of the reasons .. most of the people who come to visit over the summer do so because of the lake (wind surfers for example) or because they're trekkers or free climbers. The evening events through out the summer go from jazz festivals to fireworks (not only in Riva del Garda but at Torboli) ... with a lot in between.
DeleteThat's what I call real fireworks Georgia ... it feels really like a firework celebration for CDHK :-)
ReplyDeleteI thought so too after reading your prompt ... so I put a whole event up ... I'm happy you enjoyed it Kristjaan! :-)
DeleteOh, how beautiful -- the "grounds display" is like peacock tails unfolding in the sky! And fairy fireworks -- what a beautiful image :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen ... they are something to see, the video of course couldn't really capture the feel of the event. I'm happy you enjoyed it though.
