The Sparkling Stars challenge is to try to write classical haiku finding inspiration from our haiku poet - the theme is Inner Voice:
this morning's rain fall
pitter-pattering on the roof
- whispers of winter
pitter-pattering on the roof
- whispers of winter
November birdsong -
just outside the closed windows
reminder of spring
just outside the closed windows
reminder of spring
inner voice whispers
the changing of the seasons -
in this mortal coil

up along the slopes
under the sun – the goats
were grazing on fire.
on the balcony
standing in a cage of sunbeams –
like a rainbow
something has happened.
the moon lit up the room.
God knew about it.
hear the sighing rain.
I whisper a secret, to reach
all the way in there.
a scene on the platform.
what a strange calm –
the inner voice

The classical haiku form is as follows:
5-7-5 sylables
a seasonword (kigo)
a cutting word (kireji), mostly interpunction in Western haiku
a moment as short as the sound of a pebble tthrown into water
a deeper (spiritual/religious) meaning
This is amazing Georgia -- the music goes with it so perfectly too.
ReplyDeleteStrange how birdsong can remind us of spring, no matter what season --
Thanks Jen .. I agree ... birdsong is definitely not a kigo in my opinion ... unless it's for spring of course ;-)
DeleteBeautiful, cara, and your choice of music is perfect...brava, ma chère!
