Tapestry - August 19, 2014

Today due a funny occurance, on Carpe Diem Haiku Kai we will write about "tapestry" without a particular reference from "Sea and Foam" ... but this post is chock full of a wonderful description of the meaning of tapestry ...

warp and woof create
pictures in the tapestry
and in a man's life

fields, sky and moutains
the beauty of the morning
like a tapestry

birth, life and death
the warp and woof of life
history of men

the wheel of karma
turning throughout the ages
tapestry of life

  1. Another great series!
Felt especially touched by the warp and woof of life -- the structure of history -- very nice!

    1. Thanks Jen ... you're alwasy a font of encouragement ... I'm happy you enjoyed that particular haiku - I believe that history is such an integral part of us, it's just a darn shame that we suffer from amnesia and can't really see it's various aspects that are still such a part of us.

    2. I do so agree ... the sand ones are destroyed each time they're finished but there are many woven mandalas.

  6. History and plenty of 'her' stories too - threads that bind but also lead us down different color filled roads.
    Lovely series. :)
