Little Creatures - Daisies - January 24, 2015

daisy chain 11pp
Fleureuropean

Daisies
in early summer
children play in the fields
making daisy chains

 unamused  bees look on
at the waste of good food

as mothers call
daisy chains abandoned
among the poppies

trampled grass and flowers
sun sets behind the mountain

a young girl wonders
she plucks white daisy petals
looking for true love

decapitating daisies
one hot summer afternoon

  1. Yes, I'd wondered about that ... good news for a little girl, but horrible news for a daisy!
Had to laugh at the bees grumbling over lost food --- :)

    A great take, Georgia --

  2. I remember doing this as a child and then with my children. I love this: "unamused the bees look on
at the waste of good food" never thought of that perspective before : )
