Writing with Sogi - a Troiku - January 15, 2015

hoarfrost

sparkling fields
morning frost becomes spirit
warm morning sun

§

sparkling fields
under the persimmon tree
a white blanket

morning frost becomes spirit
grass and trees sway
a warm morning breeze

warm morning sun
life shakes off cold darkness
winter birds sing

This was written for Carpe Diem Haiku Kai's Special #127 dedicated to Iio Sog with a request to write a Troikui:

Both grasses and trees
waiting for the moon
dewy evening

Our host's Troiku:

morning dew
vanished in a second as the sun rises -
life is short

© Chèvrefeuille

morning dew
makes the spiderweb crystalline
nature's treasure

vanished in a second as the sun rises
the fragile hoarfrost on the branches -
ice skating

life is short
I see the thin grey hair of my parents
I become grey too

    1. Thanks Paloma .. I should have put up a photo I have of a persimmon tree in a frosted field .. but I'm happy the haiku transmits the image without the photo!
