Grief - September 5, 2014

For Carpe Diem Haiku Kai ... a study in grief:

first days of autumn
the fig cries out its grief
near the cemetery

anger creating grief
downtrodden hearts weep
in a bread line

passing onwards
gentle tears flowing
of those left behind

wilted flowers
clouded and darkened skies
winter approaching

grief reigns soverign
in  musty smells of fall
abandoned fields

  2. A great series as always Georgia! The must, abandoned fields caught me - as did the anger turning into grief. The haiga is quite interesting - had never really thought about figs splitting on the branch before - it's a great image of grief though.

    1. The image of the split fig was near the cemetery so I just tied the two together, though in truth it reminded me of a sand worm from Dune ;-) Thanks for dropping by and for your interesting feedback.

    1. I agree that it's so sad to see the flowers wilting on the plant ... really a sad vision. Thanks and cheers to you too!

  4. Living with loss daily, every time the sun sets -
and yet there can be a joy found in the history of a grave yard, the volunteers who donate bread and then hand it out, tears of joy filled memory, the earth earned rest of winter and the empty field that once provided so much and will again come a new spring...

While filled with pictures of grief I also see scenes of hope. Thank you.

    1. I know what you mean .. this is a particularly sad period. It's so sad to see the younger generation who should be beginning their adventure without a clear future. But Youth has it's own special energy ...
