Hatsu Hana (The First Cherry Blossom) - October 9, 2014

Continuing along memory lane today's Carpe Diem Haiku Kai post brings back a prompt from March 2013: Cherry Blossom or Hatsu Hana - a classical spring time kigo.

cherry blossoms sway
in the early morning breeze
bees hum

the first cherry bloom
harbinger of a pink sea
perfuming the lane

tiny cherry buds
open under the warm sun
defying winter

  1. really liking the image of the pink sea, Georgia -- it certainly feels like that when you have masses in bloom, caught in a spring breeze :)
